We are extremely excited to be able to offer this to the public. As most of you know, the SGUAP crew competed in the 10.00 index class this year at Race Week / Drag Week 2020. We were also 1 of the 2 Subaru’s to ever register / compete in race week. We ran the entire event on a completely bone stock 2004 STI long block. 1400+ driven miles from track to track while towing a 1500-pound U-Haul trailer. We averaged a 10.77 for the entire week and best of all, completed race week. OEM Head gaskets, OEM head studs, OEM rods & pistons, nothing was modified on the engine side. That engine has been torture tested since July of 2019 with well over 70+ passes since then, with about 20+ mid 10 second passes with zero mechanical issues or head gasket issues.
That being said, we did build a backup engine that we took with us on the trip that we didn’t even end up touching, which is still a shock to all of us! Our back up engine was spec’d out while still using the factory OEM short block and cylinder heads. We added a few extra parts to help with extra oiling such as the bigger 12mm oil pump as well as the 11mm 625+ head studs, and the gorgeous purple HKS timing belt with the clear RCM timing covers.
This entire engine was built with brand new parts even down to the bolts. Nothing used touched this engine. We never thought we would ever sell it, so no expense was spared! Please keep in mind that this is a complete timed engine that is ready to go. We have attached the parts that we used as well as part numbers for reference as well as pricing if you wanted to build something like this on your own.
This engine will come with our standard 30 day warranty as long as it is installed by a certified Subaru repair facility.
